Within the booming world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) hides an emerging art form so new that few cypherpunks can even explain it: NFT Poetry. The NFT Poetry Gallery aims to place a spotlight on this burgeoning art form as it begins to take root in the present and grows into the future.
Meanwhile, I turned my sordid college hobby into a career: playing poker. Poker and poetry in many ways appear to be completely at odds with each other--but to me, poker and poetry are like two halves, joined with a golden hinge. In both, there’s the superficial story, and then the tale behind the words on the page and the real implications of chips thrown across green felt. There’s also an exhilarating dash of the incalculable--will the red wheelbarrow signify hope or the threat of loss to the readers of my poem; is this player bluffing me precisely because it’s a terrible time to?
My degree helped me see that poems can’t fully breathe inside the thick pages of publications guarded by relics with gold keys--that the very spirit of poetry is being crushed under the control of the white-gloved curators. As such, I believe NFTs are the canvas on which a poetry renaissance will be painted, and my dream is to be a part of the movement.
